Returns & Exchange Policy
We stand behind the quality of every piece we make. This page explains your rights as a consumer under Nigerian law, when exchanges apply, and what we need from you to help resolve any concern.

Your statutory rights — FCCPA 2018
Nothing in this policy limits or removes your rights as a consumer under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 (FCCPA). Under the FCCPA, you have the right to:
- Receive goods of merchantable quality and fit for their ordinary purpose
- Receive goods that match their description, sample, or demonstrated quality
- A remedy — which may be repair, replacement, or a refund — if goods are defective, unsafe, or materially different from how they were described
Any clause in this policy that conflicts with these statutory rights is void to that extent. Your statutory rights apply regardless of whether the item is ready-made or bespoke.
Defective or misdescribed goods
If you receive an item that has a genuine manufacturing defect, or that materially differs from what was described or agreed at the time of purchase, you are entitled to a remedy under the FCCPA. The remedy may be:
- Repair of the defect (where feasible)
- Replacement with an equivalent item
- A refund of the amount paid, where repair or replacement is not possible or not agreed
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the defect or discrepancy and your order reference. We will review your claim and respond within 2 business days.
Return shipping costs for defective or misdescribed goods will be covered by us or reimbursed to you once the claim is confirmed.
Ready-made pieces — voluntary exchange
Outside of your statutory rights above, we also offer a goodwill exchange on ready-made items where the request is made within 7 days of delivery. This is offered at our discretion and covers situations such as sizing, not defects.
Voluntary exchanges are offered for a different size or style where stock is available. We do not offer cash refunds on ready-made pieces on a change-of-mind basis — only where there is a defect or misdescription, as described above.
To qualify for a voluntary exchange, items must meet the condition requirements listed below.
Bespoke and custom pieces
Bespoke and custom-made pieces are made specifically to your brief and measurements, confirmed with you in writing before production begins. Because these pieces are made to your individual specifications, they are not eligible for return or exchange on a change-of-mind basis.
However, your statutory rights under the FCCPA still apply. If a bespoke piece has a genuine manufacturing defect, or if the completed piece materially fails to match the specifications agreed in writing, you are entitled to a remedy. Such cases are reviewed individually.
Variations from what was briefed that result from inaccurate measurements or specifications provided by you do not constitute a manufacturing defect. We strongly encourage you to double-check all measurements before confirming your brief.
Condition requirements for voluntary exchanges
To be eligible for a voluntary exchange on a ready-made piece, returned items must be:
- Unworn and unused
- Free from odours, stains, or signs of wear
- Unaltered — no washing, tailoring, or modification
- In their original packaging where applicable
Items that do not meet these conditions will not be accepted for a voluntary exchange and will be returned to you. These conditions do not apply to items being returned on statutory grounds (defect or misdescription) — those are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
How to start a return or exchange
To request a return or exchange — whether on statutory grounds or as a voluntary exchange — contact us within the stated window via WhatsApp or email at dcdnigeria@gmail.com. Please include:
- Your name and order reference
- The item you received
- The reason for the return or exchange request
- Photos of the item — required for defect or misdescription claims
We will acknowledge your request and respond with next steps within 2 business days.
Return shipping
If you are returning an item because it is defective or does not match its description, we will cover or reimburse the cost of return shipping once the claim is confirmed.
For voluntary exchanges (sizing, change of mind on ready-made pieces), return shipping to us is at your expense. We will confirm the return address and instructions when your request is approved.
We recommend using a tracked delivery method for all returns. We cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit to us.
Resolution timeframe
Once we receive a returned item and confirm it meets the relevant criteria, we will process your exchange or refund within 7 business days. Refunds are returned via the original payment method where technically possible.
We are committed to resolving all genuine concerns fairly and promptly. If you have a complaint about a product and we have not resolved it to your satisfaction, you may contact the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) at fccpc.gov.ng.
